Batemans Brewery, based at Salem Bridge in Wainfleet since 1874, has a long and cherished reputation for brewing quality beers. Venture behind the scenes with us and explore four generations of brewing history – right up to the present day.

Due to the nature of our brewery operations, environmental and health & safety regulations, we’re no longer able to accommodate children under 12 on our tours. We appreciate your understanding and support.
Health & Safety Warnings
For your safety during the brewery tour:
- High-visibility vests and safety glasses must be worn while inside the brewhouse, as you’ll be entering a working production area. These will be provided on arrival.
- Sensible footwear is essential. For safety reasons, sandals, flip-flops, or any open-toe shoes are not permitted on the tour.
- Tours are not suitable for people with walking difficulties and is not accessible by wheelchair. We are an old working brewery with several steep steps and uneven surfaces to negotiate, and may also encounter wet surfaces.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all guests.
Brewery Tours must be booked and paid for in advance and are subject to availability.

Your safety is paramount to us.
When you arrive in the Visitors Centre for the beginning of your tour there is a health and safety notice that you need to read and sign.
Batemans Brewery is an old working brewery with several steep steps to negotiate. We kindly request that you wear sensible footwear as our tours involve navigating stairs, it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties and is not accessible by wheelchair.
Young adults over 12 are permitted but they must be accompanied by an adult and due to licensing law unable to taste the beer, soft drinks are available.
Please note, all areas of the Brewery is a nut free zone, and no smoking or e-cigarettes are allowed in any of the buildings.
The guide will be handing out raw materials at different stages of the tour, please do not touch any of the machinery as it may suddenly move or surface be hot, without the guides permission, plus you might interfere with the brewing process.
It is vital that all those on the tour remain with the guide at all times. If you are unable to continue the tour or feel unwell, please tell the guide immediately and they will arrange for you to return to the Visitors Centre.
No one will be allowed on the tour if they are under the influence of either drink or drugs.
We reserve the right to refuse admittance or curtail tours in the interest of your safety, the safety our own employees or the integrity of our product.
Due to the working and drink-producing nature of our brewery tours, we regret that dogs or pets cannot accompany visitors.
