"CL" is the Roman numeral for 150, making it a fitting name for a beer celebrating 150 years of brewing. CL is crafted from a recipe inspired by letters written by George Bateman in the 1890s.
New brewing equipment arrived at the brewery on 30th April and needed to be lifted into place. A large crane was brought in to install the new Hot Liquor Tank and the two new chiller units.
Nant Fawr Brews Podcast is presented by Andy Taylor and features author Adam Cartwright, who wrote Good Honest Tales, a book detailing the 150-year history of Batemans Brewery.
This year, St George’s Day falls on Tuesday (23rd April - obviously), and in keeping with Batemans' long-standing tradition of producing seasonally relevant beers, we will once again be brewing St George’s Glory.
2024 will be an exciting year at Batemans Brewery, who brew 10,000 hectolitres per year, operate 50 pubs and a Free Trade network in Lincolnshire, East Midlands and Norfolk, as it is 150 years since George Bateman started his brewery in Wainfleet, Lincolnshire.
