Bands on the Bank - A Day of Live Music, Delicious Food, and Vibrant Festivities...
Bands on the Bank festival once again drew enthusiastic crowds, marking a milestone in the 150-year history of Batemans Brewery with yet another resounding success. Festival-goers of all ages gathered for a day filled with live music, delicious food, real ale, exotic cocktails and vibrant festivities, making it a truly unforgettable celebration.
The musical festivities kicked off with a bang as The Jammy Codgers took the stage, delighting early attendees with a lively set of Jam classics that set the tone for the day. Their performance was followed by the much-loved band Zebra, who returned to the festival with a powerful set of memorable tunes, encouraging the crowd to sing along.
Bringing a modern twist to the line-up, the all-girl band Little Mixx delivered a youthful, energetic performance that kept the momentum going. 23 Reasons followed, captivating the audience with their electro-acoustic numbers, perfectly warming everyone up for the headline act, Revolver. As night fell, the dance area filled with eager “Revollers” who danced the night away to the band’s electrifying performance, closing out the festival on a high note.

Throughout the day, attendees were treated to a wide variety of food and drink options. From Caribbean cuisine and freshly baked pizza to savoury hog roast pork baps, there was something to satisfy every craving. The beer flowed freely, with Batemans beer, Madri lager, and cider being popular choices. For those looking for something a bit more exotic, the Fizz Bar, Tipsy Mare, and Slush Bar served up refreshing cocktails, mocktails, and tropical slushies. A refreshing cup of tea or coffee was available from The Coffee Pod.
Children and adults alike enjoyed the festive atmosphere, with kids indulging in Husky’s ice creams, colourful slushies, milkshakes and taking part in free face painting. The creative face designs added a splash of colour to the event, with many “big kids” joining in on the fun, showing off their unique looks during the evening dance.
As the event drew to a close, it was clear that this year’s Bands on the Bank was one of the best yet. The festival organizers have already announced next year’s date, so be sure to save the date for Saturday 9th August 2025, when the festival returns for another unforgettable day of music, food, drinks and fun.
