The village of Trunch had just over 900 residents at the last census, but since then new houses have been built and some properties are holiday homes, meaning the current population will exceed 2000. There is a village hall (which is home to the preschool), and a social club. The popular resort of Mundesley is 2 miles away, with Cromer only 7 miles away. There is a Primary school in Mundesley, with older children attending the High School in North Walsham. There is a regular bus service to Cromer and North Walsham. The village is famous for its annual music festival Trunchonbury each August, held a short distance from the Crown.
